The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible to process goods shipped and received by a company. This position is tasked with seeing outgoing packages through from start to finish and monitoring progress throughout the shipment. The Shipping and Receiving Clerk keeps records and tracks what is sent out. This position must have a great eye for attention to detail.
Responsible for tracking inventory levels, handling all aspects of shipping and receiving and keeping accurate records
Compares bills of lading against actual merchandise received, inspects for damaged goods and coordinates distribution to the correct departments
Maintains internal record-keeping systems
Contacts internal and external vendors and customers for various information
Contacts transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace or return
May operate forklifts, hand trucks or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
Performs other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring to the Team
3 years prior experience working as a warehouse clerk
Must be extremely organized and have strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
Previous experience with office procedures
Previous experience with Microsoft Office
Must be able to meet all physical requirements of the position
Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations
Be at least 18 years of age, or 21 if CDL is required
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Valid Drivers License
