Aerotek Industrial Hygienist in Whiting, Indiana
IH Consultant will be responsible for working with a few different clients at first; will begin at steel mills to train directly with Sr. Project Managers.
They will arrive at the client at 7:00 AM every day, and they will remain with the client until scheduled to do otherwise. Typical hours are 6-2:30 or 7-3:30, but times can often change so must be flexible with their schedule.
They will be responsible for technical report writing. They will be in charge of making sure that plans are created and maintained to keep safety a top priority for the client.
They will need to work with union and non-union workers to make sure they are complying with safety standards.
They will be responsible for running tests to make sure that air quality, sound, etc are compliant and safe for the work force. If not, being able to come up with solutions to maintain health and safety for employees.
They will work on client site 8 hours a day until instructed to do otherwise. They let people know in advance where they will be scheduled unless an emergency comes up.
The overall theme is that the individual needs to be able to achieve and maintain a high level of OSHA compliance.

The best individual would have a rounded experience with a variety of different settings.
Bachelor's degree in industrial hygiene or science related discipline (biology, chemistry, geology, etc.)
Strong computer knowledge, organizational, and communication skills
Must be able to successfully work in union and professional work environments.
Must have a reliable form of transportation.
Must be willing to travel between 1-2 weeks a month.
