TechTrades Global Director of Advanced Mfg Engineering in Westfield, Indiana
*Overview: *Leads the global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) competency to establish the corporate vision and roadmap for manufacturing processes, methodologies, lean and continuous improvement as well as the tactical implementation thereof.
1 Establish a 3-5 year vison / roadmap for functional competencies reporting.
2 Develop clear goals, objectives and responsibilities for departments directly reporting. Provide collaborative oversight of goals, objectives and responsibilities for dotted line reports.
3 Develop a working climate within the departments reporting and between the departments
4 Establish, train and maintain formal, documented global standards for functional competencies and monitor compliance thereof. Examples include but are not limited to:
5 Administer Lean Training/Certification Program
6 Develop annual capital and expense budgets for departments reporting and related Manufacturing accounts.
7 Participate in New Product Development, RFQ’s, Change Management, Transition Projects, Cost Improvements by developing cost of manufacturing budgets for new programs, engineering/process changes, cost reduction initiatives, make/buy analysis and vertical integrations. Both capital investment and ongoing operational costs associated with labor, production support (overhead) and in some cases material.
8 Participate in New Product Development, RFQ’s, Change Management, Transition Projects, Cost Improvements to assure Design for Manufacturing is optimized and expected Quality levels are designed into the product/process.
9 Oversee completion of functional competency deliverables related to the process to launch programs and initiatives.
10 Facilitate cross plant global alignment and best practices sharing and lessons learned.
11 Reduce customer complaints and cost of poor quality.
12 Develop and execute Operational Excellence Model for functional competencies globally.
13 Research and develop new manufacturing methodologies, propose new manufacturing concepts, carry out the research and document the results.

Minimum Bachelor of Science in a related Engineering field of study preferably in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Systems Engineering
Preferably Masters in an Engineering discipline or MBA
Minimum of 15 years of industry experience.
Industry Experience: Automotive OEM or Tier 1
Global responsibility across multiple plants with some plants outside the US.
Has managed teams comprised of both direct line and dotted line matrix reporting.
Strong understanding of APQP including PFMEA, Control Plans, Bill of Process
Ability to travel globally
Proven record of managing global resources through a matrix organizational structure.
Ability to communicate clearly in a verbal and written sense.
Seating Plant Experience
Career experience in at least one other functional competency (Quality, Engineering, Materials, Operations, etc)
