TEKsystems Refresh Technician in West Lafayette, Indiana
Our client needs two deployment technicians to assist with their ongoing Equipment Lifecycle Refresh project. Our client will have close to 500 desktop/laptop devices that are eligible for replacement in 2021 and the ELR team will be supporting both on-campus and remote user with their equipment lifecyle this summer.
Due to the campus still being under covid protocol the activities will be deliverd in various locations.
Staging - For remote employees they will most likely be bringing their current device(laptop/desktop) to either a staging site held in Stuart Hall on campus or the 2550 location which is west of campus. In either instance internal employees will be dropping off their equipment at a schedule time/location and then returning to pick-up their updated equipment at a later designated time. Technician will handle the following task for each laptop/desktop provided by the internal employee.
Windows 10/hardware refresh.
Quality Assurance testing of hardware/computers prior to roll-out, software and printer management via System Center Configuration Manager, and user rights via Active Directory.
Time and Team management working with service managers to meet deadlines and project expectations.
Post deployment support and hardware/software issue resolution as well as serving as a technical liaison to various departments while onsite.
On-Site: Some department that have resumed on-campus services will be conducting their refresh in similar fashion as year prior, although the intrernal employee will not be present when refresh procedure are taking place. The script for imaging/refresh will be consistent with the ELR outlined processes/procedure but in these case the equipment update will happen at the designated on campus location.
This will be a very well planned out project that is well scripted as they have completed this activity by leverage technicians from TEK over the last 5 summers. Candidates will be responsible for leading a small team of students to their designated locations/departments throughout campus. Candidates will sit with the internal team for the first week and go through what they need to know with Active Directory as well as the overall deployment process and responsibilities. Candidates need more customer Service and desktop environment experience. Mainly adding computer names into collections once systems are deployed. Time management and student management is critical. Good personality and ability to lead coupled with great customer service (user base needs to be coddled at times.
