Quality Control Supervisor
-Responsible for leading union personnel in the manufacturing of quality products.
-Oversee the quality activities in all production and assembly areas on any shift.
-Assist with the execution of quality checks to ensure quality products are being delivered to the customer.
-Supervise and manage schedules of hourly employees
-Implement, support and follow-up on quality mandates including PSO and ISO Certification, vehicle assembly concerns, field and end-user customer concerns, 3rd party dress concerns, functional audits, leak and cold tests, and dynamometer functions - personnel and equipment
-Lead and support the continuous use of production quality practical problem solving methods and processes for major quality issues arising from gauging, production, control plans, dimensional issues, and quality check routes, leak test, final test defect mapping, functional audit / dynamometer non-conformances
-Identify Quality system issues (or potential issues) to prevent defective product
-Provide timely feedback to Manufacturing Operations on problems identified for actions to be taken quickly to address quality issues immediately
-Use electronic reports to contain and quarantine product; set up inspections as required with all appropriate documentation
-Report to management using daily quality Indicators that are compiled from functional audit, dock audits, customer (vehicle plant and field) returns and problems, production quality issues for every shift and follow-up on actions taken by the respective departments to eliminate or mitigate the quality issues
-Facilitate meetings between various functions including Manufacturing Operations, Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering (Technical Support Specialists), Resident Engineering, etc. to arrive at dispositions that impact product quality
-Coordinate with SQA, 3rd party service provider, Production Control and Manufacturing Operations for receiving inspection, in-line inspection and sorting, teardown and autopsy
-Lead and support company's World Class Manufacturing (WCM) program and tools
-Bachelor degree, Mechanical Eng Technology preferred or Engineering discipline required with minimum 1 year of Supervision in automotive manufacturing environment, directing hourly union workers preferred.
-Must be high-energy, hands-on individual -- a self-confident leader with the ability to managing cross-functionally.
-Strong interpersonal skills to work in a team environment.
-Display effective communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership.
-MS Office proficiency and excellent organization skills.
-Must be able to work in a fast paced unionized manufacturing environment and flexible to work on a pattern crew schedule over three shifts, and weekend schedule will be required -- Current 3rd Shift Quality Supervisor.
-May be required to travel -- domestic & international (less than 20%).
