Job Summary:

The Specialist works collaboratively with teams and department leaders throughout Union Health System to demonstrate our values and achieve "Our Promise" through the implementation of process improvement initiatives and programs. The Specialist acts as an organizational process improvement champion who leads departmental and cross-functional teams through all aspects of the continuous improvement effort using Lean, Six Sigma and effective strategies and methodologies.

The Specialist facilitates the identification, understanding and improvement of process issues by using appropriate quantitative and qualitative tools. The Specialist will assist with the development and delivery of process improvement training and education to the organization. As an agent of change, the specialist will serve as a catalyst to create a culture that continuously strives for operational excellence and embraces the principles of process improvement.

Education, Training & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Nursing or other clinical discipline; Master's degree a plus

1-3 Year of proven experience in Process Improvement using Lean and Six Sigma; Healthcare experience is a plus.

Experienced and passionate process improvement leader and educator (formal or informal) with proven problem-solving experience.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is required.

ASQ or IIE Certification is strongly preferred; Certifications from other entities will be evaluated.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification and /or Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) are preferred complements.
