A Machine Repairman performs a large variety of activities required to maintain, analyze, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair of the mechanical/electro-mechanical systems of simple/complex manufacturing, process, assembly and test equipment. Examples of machines include, but not limited to: Mills, Lathes, Drill Presses, Multi-Axis CNC Machines, Riveters, Grinders, Forming Machines, Molding Machines, Presses, Punch Presses, Stamping Machines, Test Stands, Furnaces, Ovens, and Thermal Chambers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform troubleshooting of complex equipment to determine cause of failure/defect

  • Perform precision installation and alignment of mechanical components (e.g. pumps, bearings, gears, bushings, shafts, couplers, etc.)

  • Install and perform functional checks of simple machine electrical/electro-mechanical components (e.g. limit switches, sensors, floats, toggles, panel lights, interlocks, etc.)

  • Maintain mechanical portions of motion control devices (spindles, belts, bearings, gear boxes, sheaves, ball screws, gibs, ways, turrets and drive shafts

  • Perform on-equipment plumbing repairs

  • Maintain, repair, and rebuild cylinders, gearboxes, spindles, etc.

  • Maintain and repair machine hydraulic systems

  • Maintain and repair machine lubrication systems

  • Perform repairs to machine guards and guarding systems

  • Maintain and perform minor repairs to tooling and fixtures

  • Perform Predictive Maintenance Inspections (Vibration, Infrared Thermography, Ultrasound)

  • Perform basic equipment servicing (cleaning, lubrication, coolant, filters, etc.)

  • Clean facility and production equipment (internal/exterior surfaces, contaminants – residues/oil/dirt/chips, etc.)

  • Perform all work activity in a safe manner while maintaining compliance to Honeywell’s Health Safety and Environment

Management System (HSEMS).

  • Perform work with high quality. Utilize best practices and the appropriate tools, materials and parts for the task at hand.

  • Perform work in an efficient manner. Escalate quickly when issues arise that prevent timely completion of work assignments. Actively seek new assignments when work is completed faster than expected.

  • Implement processes to sustain a clean and orderly workplace. Ensure equipment and work areas are cleaned and all tools are properly stored at the completion of each assignment.

  • Actively participate in defining, documenting and continuously improving maintenance procedures in the pursuit of the safest, most productive, work methods.

  • Effectively communicate with coworkers and provide assistance to others when appropriate to ensure success of the team.

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds


  • High School Diploma

  • US Citizenship

  • Journeyman card or 5 years of equivalent experience performing maintenance on complex machines


  • Basic reading and writing skills

  • Math skills that demonstrate a basic understanding of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry

  • Due to Federal regulations, candidate must be either a US Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident

  • Basic computer skills – locate/open files, send/receive emails, process/enter details in service reports

  • Ability to perform basic welding with high quality

  • Ability to work in tight spaces

  • Ability to work at elevation (ladders, lifts, scaffolding)

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, standard operating procedures and use measurement devices

  • Ability to use transportation equipment to deliver and retrieve material, personnel, and toolboxes at job sites

  • Ability to select and utilize the appropriate tools the performance of job tasks. This position will utilize tools such as, but

  • not limited to: hand tools, corded/cordless tools, multi-meters, torque wrenches, pressure gages, dial indicators and other similar tools
