The Consumer Packaging Division is now seeking an Automation Technician to be located in Richmond, Indiana. The selected candidate will play a key role in supporting new and established projects with an emphasis on automated part handling and end of line automation. This position reports directly to the Automation Group Leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Electrical/Controls Requirements

  • Ability to log in and manipulate the program on Allen Bradley PLC/Servo controls and troubleshoot system. Make minor program changes if required.

  • Ability to log in and manipulate the program on TwinCat PLC/Servo controls and troubleshoot system. Make minor program changes if required.

  • Ability to read and troubleshoot with electrical/mechanical prints.

  • Ability to use multi-meter to troubleshoot electrical circuits including but not limited to motor control circuits.

  • Ability to troubleshoot vision system issues and make parameter/tool adjustments, create new job files as needed.

  • Ability to troubleshoot/repair any and all electrical devices without assistance including but not limited to motors, drives, contactors, etc.

Mechanical Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hydraulic circuits and devices including but not limited to valves, cylinders, etc.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic circuits and devices including but not limited to valves, cylinders, etc.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and replace/rebuild pumps as necessary.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and replace bearings, bearing rails and guides.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, replace, track/tension conveyor belts and servo belts.

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues using various mechanical measuring tools including but not limited to micrometers, calipers and indicators.

  • Ability to set and align automations parts and/or equipment as needed for changeovers.

  • Ability to troubleshoot various mechanical issues with part transfer, closing and handling.

General

  • MUST ALWAYS FOLLOW PLANT SAFETY RULES.

  • Must be a good self-starter and take the lead on troubleshooting issues.

  • Must have good work ethic and work well with production and support departments.

  • Must be able to think outside the box and find issues before they cause equipment issues.

  • Have all necessary tools to perform job.

  • Quantity of work. Ability to troubleshoot and repair in a timely manner.

  • Quality of work. Repairs made are correct and sustainable.

  • Must be able to keep neat and organized work area.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Three to five years related experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Flexibility to work any shift

  • Ability to supply own tools

  • Knowledge and understanding of PLC's, motor and motor controls, and conveyor belt systems.

  • Ability to work well within a team structure
