Under direction, supervises, assigns, reviews and participates in the work of staff responsible for maintenance of Automotive manufacturing plant equipment, machinery and related facilities; ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures; and performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.Core CompetenciesSuperviseOperate and repair heavy equipmentSelect, Train, and Evaluate StaffPrepare clear and concise reportsOperate electrical and electronic troubleshooting equipmentOrganize and Review work of lower level staffInterpret and explain policies and proceduresTroubleshoot and Maintain plant equipment, machinery and related facilitiesRespond to and Maintain order in emergency situationsOperate office equipmentAdapt to changing technologiesJob Duties And Responsibilities:Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for maintenance of the manufacturing plant including repair and installation of all electronic, electric, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance and repair services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures.Perform the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit including purchasing of all maintenance and repair equipment and supplies.Train all personnel in LOTO, confined space entry and all safety equipment and procedures; set-up and administer department continuous improvement program.Supervise the plant maintenance workers. Asses their performance and communicate with your team to ensure continued development.Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program. Ensure process and documentation of that program is maintained.Oversee the construction of electrical systems in the plant including assisting with complex electrical drawings; ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.Maintain established parameters to ensure quality parts are being produced. Work closely with The Production and Quality managers to ensure adequate communication occurs. Communicate and document all planned work to ensure down time is reduced.Ability to read prints and schematics.Participate in the selection of plant maintenance staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.Participate in the preparation and administration of the plant maintenance program budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.Prepare analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of automotive and manufacturing.Perform related duties as required.Meet physical demands that come with working in a manufacturing facility for at least 50% of the work shift. For example; Be able to stand up to 6 hours at a time; push, pull and/or lift up to 50lbs, recognize colors, able to manipulate small parts repetitively; able to wear required PPE; ability to walk up stairs and have the ability to stoop, bend or crawl and able to reach above head repetitively.
