Superior Construction Field HSE Manager in Portage, Indiana
To assist in contributing to the safe work environment through encouraging a safe workplace culture and raising awareness to eliminate incidents and injuries.
The ability to implement program elements and safe operating procedures
The knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet or exceed compliance
The ability to understand and employ construction specifications, methods, and procedures
The ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards
The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
The knowledge of hygiene, ergonomics, and HAZCOM, and the ability to act as required for the preservation of health and the prevention of disease
The ability to plan and organize construction/safety activities
The use and application of technology as well as the evaluation and integration of new technologies as they apply to role
The skill to develop and deliver effective safety training programs
Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel & Power Point
Ability to Communicate effectively at all levels of the organization (Verbal & Written)
Ability to Organize and Prioritize work with little oversight
Must be “Hands On”, walk projects daily and identify issues as well as success
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent occasionally walks and stands for long periods of time. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, exempt position.
The role requires minimal travel.
Required Education and Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in HSE required
Minimum Undergraduate degree in Health, Safety and Environmental Science
Preferred BCSP Certifications or qualified to obtain
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
