The Application Specialist: Supports the organization by developing, implementing and supporting IT solutions for all Helmer employees. Manages mid-sized cross functional projects from an IT perspective.
Promotes Helmer values as demonstrated in personal productivity and quality of work, management of internal/external relationships, actively seeking out and participating in Continuous Improvement practices, and willingness to engage and support team initiatives.

Application/Solution Support: Support Helmer applications and IT solutions for both local and remote users. Introducing and integrating new technologies. Provide after-hours Application/Solution support on rotation and as needed.
Solution development : Identify and define business needs, analyze options, make recommendation of best options to meet business needs and implement. Identify and implement IT solutions based on requirements. Configure On-Premise and/or Cloud Based Enterprise applications to suit user/business needs.
Application Development: Develop software applications/solutions to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers. Develop detailed functional and technical design, and test specifications. Enhance, maintain, and troubleshoot application requests.
Database administration: Maintenance and performance tuning of all on-Premise and Cloud based SQL platform databases. Resolves database problems. Helps design custom databases and applications.
· Enhance IT skills for current and/or future Helmer technology using training materials and methods that
would lead to a certification or recognition of accomplishment. Examples of methods would be
classroom training, web based certification courses and other methods approved by the IT Director.
- Other duties/responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Relative Work Experience: 2-3 years work experience in an enterprise business environment developing and/or supporting IT solutions. Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus.
Education: BS computer related degree preferred.
Certifications: Office 365, Azure, SQL, Power Platform, Dynamics 365 certifications a plus.
Computer Systems / Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Application solution administration and implementation, Power Platform, Azure cloud solutions, DevOps, Data Factory. Dynamics 365 CRM, ERP Systems, MS PowerShell. Demonstrated experience in MS Dynamics CRM, Canvas Apps and development tools preferred.
Ability to promote collaboration and teamwork inside/outside the department to reach common goals; partner with co-workers to share pertinent information, techniques and instruction that encourages open communication and individual development.
Ability to manage small cross-functional projects.
Demonstrated experience in program logic and system design.
Proactively develops customer relationships by making efforts to understand customer needs; apply technical knowledge in identifying cause-effect relationships and viable solutions that drive to effective problem resolution.
Ability to proactively identify business challenges. Identify as well as apply technology solutions to those challenges.
