ToolmakerJob Title: iToolmakeriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiii Primary Purpose of the Job: iReverse Engineer or built to print Dies, fixtures, and Tooling.Specific Duties:Takes direction on a day-to-day basis in the building components.Operates vertical mill, lathe, drill press, grinders, belt sander and other machine toolsOperate validation equipment.Use measuring tools such as micrometers, and height gagesAssist Design Engineers in the development of new productsPerforms such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.Must carry out duties per ISO/TS16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.Required Training, Knowledge and Experience:Strong mechanical skills as typically evidenced by experience and an Associates Degree in Applied Science technology.Three to five years of actual Tool Room experience.Toolmaker card is a plusEssential Functions:Operates standard equipment in test and process environments to conduct work requiring precision and strict observations. Follows prescribed work methods in accomplishment of assignments.i Maintains proper and appropriate records and files.Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and suggests application of standard or non-standard techniques.Suggests design changes, test modifications or recommends improvements in design, production methods or materials.Functions with general direction and little day-to-day supervision on complex programs involving various equipment and instructions.i Assists other technicians with their tests set-up and interpretation of instruction and technical engineering or design requirements.Critical Physical Demands and Working Conditions:Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently carries up to 30 pounds.Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.Majority of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.Works within an automotive components manufacturing office and laboratory setting and exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
