Manufacturing Test Engineering Co-Op: Manufacturing (First Session)
The Co-op program is designed to enhance the quality and scope of learning by providing students the option of integrating academic study with related, work based learning. This position begins in the Fall of 2018. Applicants must be enrolled in the undergraduate program and available for a rotating semester schedule. This session will introduce and use most, if not all, of the following, in the context of Manufacturing Test. The remaining sessions will build on this 1st session:
PCBA Schematic understanding.
Firmware understanding as it relates to testing products.
Test Hardware design and concepts.
Test Software algorithm analysis, improvement, possibly some design.
Test Specification: understanding concepts, creation, changes for improvement.
GRR - Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility
CPK – Process Capability, using Six Sigma concepts.
Programming Processes of ICs, before/after solder processes.
Introduction into manufacturing (process) engineering.
Introduction into In-Circuit Test processes
Functional Verification Testing of Circuit Boards.
Problem Solving related to production issues.
Continual Improvement of test processes ( faster, less cost, more effective test methods ).
Writing Specifications or Statement of Work documents for the purchase of equipment.
Purchasing and Funding of projects.
Interaction with Contract Manufacturers (located in various countries).
Track Progress of projects.
Multitask many daily task as production issues arise.
Interact and support Quality to find solutions for continual improvement.
Represent Company in a positive, professional manner when working with both external and internal customers.
Support and adhere to Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Policy.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Personal Computer knowledge
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Electrical Circuit concepts.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Co-op applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other relevant major required.
