Community Health Systems Maintenance Technician II - Engineering Dept - La Porte - Full Time, Nights in La Porte, Indiana


The Technician II performs major repairs and maintenance of pumps, motors, fans, conveyor, and other major equipment. Responsibilities include a general working knowledge of all major systems, such as boiler, electrical, air handling, and temperature Control. Must repair or replace pumps, motors, bearings, and components. Performs preventive maintenance of equipment, and maintains Documentation and inventories. All work is to be performed according to departmental or manufacturer standards. Must maintain and use, all appropriate safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, face shield, and coveralls. Other duties as assigned.


High School Graduate or GED

Minimum of 1 year experience in general maintenance related field or have taken shop classes in a technical field such as HVAC, Welding or any trades credits..

Preferred candidate will have a mechanical background and aptitude with ability to work all shifts hours and locations.

Demonstrates extensive knowledge of general maintenance procedures and able to follow checklists and technical manuals.

Has a successful record of adding value to organizations through the proactive analysis and resolution of potential bottlenecks that may negatively affect the organization.

Demonstrates a record of significantly improving patient experience.

Possesses superior communication skills, demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment, and be able to effectively direct front and back-end work processes and personnel toward a common goal.
