Position Profile

Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the manufacturing operation by providing tools training and interpretation of Quality Standards to the floor associates.

Organizational Relationship

This position reports to Manufacturing Manager.


  • Provide support to department inspection positions assuring understanding and recognition of defects
  • Interact with key stakeholders in the identification and resolution of product quality problems
  • Assure quality process inputs are documented in standard operation sheets
  • Lead and track daily/weekly operational metrics (X-Rite readings PPM QA boards North Star OOCA OBKA color checks etc.)
  • Participate in the Customer Complaint Analysis
  • Support Decora operation employees as needed to interpret specifications and solve problems
  • Support the Decora Quality System by performing tasks to ensure compliance and initiate continuous improvement of the system
  • Periodically review specifications and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS) etc. for accuracy and revisions
  • Perform layered process audits as scheduled and work towards resolution of open item
  • Perform root cause analysis ad participate in corrective action processing of quality issues
  • Provide support to floor associates assuring production goals are me
  • Lead and record activities for Quality Round Table meetings (bi-weekly)
  • Provide training/coaching on quality related issues to Decora production associates and management
  • Lead and/or participate in Kaizen improvement events
  • Provide leadership level support in the absence of department supervisors
  • Share Hot Team responsibilities among finish leadership team
  • Report out on projects using the A3 project management process / format
  • Exhibit and enforce the MBCI Safety Awareness culture

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned at management’s discretion

Characteristics & Attributes

  • Software knowledge: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to apply and interpret statistical data
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and function in a team-oriented fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills – listening verbal written and presentation
  • Must have the ability to actively initiate lead and participate in problem solving activities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be able to pass color blindness testing
  • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is minimally required
  • Knowledge of paint spraying equipment and application techniques is required
  • Experience with quality systems is preferred
  • Knowledge of MBCI quality standards and specification is preferred
