As a Support Technician, you will learn the many facets of laboratory processing with ultimate goal to move you forward into the next level of the lab! ROLE OVERVIEW: The Support Technician performs various clerical duties and supports technical functions under the supervision of the supervisor or designee. Duties may include: Order entry Specimen processing Preventative maintenance Specimen loading on instrumentation Reagent management Performs waived testing and moderately complex kit testing as allowed by organizational and CLIA guidelines Prepares and stains slides Issues blood components for transfusion Documentation to maintain accreditation standards and assisting in training new associates The standard of ethical and professional performance must be consistent with established medical laboratory practice and demonstrate the philosophy of Mid America Clinical Laboratories. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in one of the health science fields is preferred. A high school diploma or GED equivalency is required. A minimum of one year experience in a Laboratory setting required. Knowledge of medical terminology and computer experience preferred. YOU POSSESS: The ability to communicate and instruct effectively with all internal and external customers. Strong customer service as you support our patients. Great computer and keyboarding skills. Good organizational skills to perform multiple tasks simultaneously for maximum efficiency while maintaining accuracy and quality.
