Our Regional Hematology Department completes over half a million billable tests a year and services 26 hospitals, clinics and hundreds of outpatient and client facilities. The department contains an automated hematology and urinalysis lines along with multiple stand-alone instruments. We also perform body fluid cell counts and differentials and routine blood banking.

In the position, you will:

Assist in the day to day functions of the department as well as instructing and performing of routine and special laboratory testing of patient samples Utilize a wide range of automated and manual hematology methods, quality control and assurance processes including:

  • Complete Blood Counts
  • Urinalysis
  • Type and Screen, Sickle screening
  • Body Fluids
  • Infectious Disease
  • Kit Testing
  • PT/PTT
  • Proficiency Testing
  • CAP Inspection/Regulations
  • Method Validation and Verification

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology or other related laboratory health science
  • Four years of working experience as a bench technologist preferred
  • Certified Medical Technologist, MLS (ASCP), (AMT), CT (ASCP) or equivalent
  • Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
