POSITION SUMMARY:The Supervisor for Powder and Fabrication supports a team of employees by communicating company goals, safety practices and deadlines. Keeps management updated on team performance. The Supervisor for Powder and Fabrication also motivates team members, assess performance and training needs. They will communicate concerns to Manufacturing Manager, and may provide feedback to teams regarding safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.POSITION GUIDELINES:Must embrace changeAbility to work in a TEAM environment.Self-directed work ethicMotivational skills and strong relationship buildingJOB DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversees, monitors, trains and coordinates production team activities, giving importance to individual member'sActs as liaison between team members and the rest of the organizationSupports the activities of the operations department.Ensures team's goals are aligned with and representative of the overall company's directive.Organize unit and product schedule based on demand received from planning or management.Oversees the daily department production activity and facilitates departmental workflow.Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.Coaches, mentors and trains direct reports to foster a team environmentCoordinate required functional support to address issues in a timely mannerUtilize Problem Solving tools to ensure identification of root cause and appropriate corrective actionsResponsible for all staffing functions attendance tracking, employee disciplinary actions, performance reviewsCoordinates the efficient movement of production to meet area requirementsApplies process specifications governing the production of productSuggests strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals.Conducts Inspections of own and /or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and /or customer drawingMust meet and maintain daily production targets (once fully trained).Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work Saturdays, variable scheduled(s) and additional hours as necessary.Other responsibilities as assignedQUALIFICATIONSExperience/Background:High school graduate with a two-year tech degree or 5 years' experience in electronics field/manufacturing or equivalent experience.Skills:Team leadership qualities and communication skillsQuality-minded and detail orientedExperience in planning, scheduling and monitoring production cyclesGood organizational skills to lead activities of production cycleExperience in reading and interpreting work instructions, blue-prints and drawingsAbility to analyze and determine methods and proceduresSkilled problem-solver: Exercises judgment, based on previous experience, practices and precedents, to identify and solve problems that arise with little or no precedentAble to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and proceduresApplicants must be US Citizens or have permission to work within the USResult orientedProficient in English (reading, writing and verbal skills)ENVIRONMENTAL and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSManufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements:Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb.
