Summer Intern - Assembly Engineering

The Tobey Drive Assembly summer intern will provide both support for existing production processes as well as work on projects that are focused on implementing new automated and error proofed assembly cells. This will mean support for projects in automation, robotics and process control as well as implementing lean improvements driven from daily MDI occurring within Tobey Drive assembly processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project support for assembly improvement projects including robotic programming ,PLC programming, layout design, and installation as required.

  • Cell and factory floor layout in Autocad as required.

  • Identification of multiple problem solutions as well as implementation of final problem solution.

  • Support existing project teams as a resource as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Sophomore year must be complete by the start of the summer internship program for undergraduate candidates.

  • Minimum 3.0 on 4.0 GPA scale.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability and initiative (e.g. school club officer, sports team captain, resident advisor, etc. or exceptional leadership on school/work projects).

  • Prior hands on experience in robotic programming, manufacturing & assembly processes, and/or PLC programming and CAD preferred.
