Proofpoint’s Threat products business unit is looking for excellent Sr. Software Development Engineers in Test, to develop test infrastructure, interact with cross functional teams and automate tests. They would be experienced engineers with fluency in coding, will be part of the sprint planning process, identify how the automation infrastructure could be enhanced and build new test scripts in an agile product development environment with a goal to make frequent releases
As a senior engineer, they would be responsible to improve over-all quality of the product and increase confidence in releases. Can run with a project - research, deliver quick proof-of-concept demos, and reaching out to people in other groups in the company and deliver projects with high quality.
Ideal candidates will take initiative to make things better, have technical experience in testing cloud services using REST APIs, data bases, building release pipelines, creative problem-solving skills, a love for coding and a healthy dose of self-motivation.

Take ownership of the quality at the product and at the feature level.
Be part of the scrum team and represent the quality concerns, provide status updates.
Proactively identify the areas for the automation infrastructure to improve, and how it needs to change to support new features.
Participate and provide code review feedback.
Develop test cases and automation to back it up. Initiate conversations with development engineers to build features with hooks to help testing.
Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, Developers and Ops team on the team in an Agile environment to deliver high quality features on schedule.
Share knowledge with team and mentor junior members of the team.
Be ready to adapt and contribute across the wider org as needed.

What you bring to the team
Have spent 4 or more years in the trenches, building test infrastructure for large-scale SaaS applications.
Be fluent in a major language suited for Rest API and UI automation such as Ruby, Java, Python
Experience in UI test automation with Selenium is a plus.
Good understanding of SQL, HTTP
Professional experience with AWS, ESXi, DNS, Jenkins, Git, Stash highly desired.
Knowledge on Linux Systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills
