Aerotek Sourcing Engineer - Substation And Power Transmission in Indianapolis, Indiana

A tier-one utility located in Indianapolis, IN, is actively hiring a Sourcing Engineer or Sourcing Analyst for their procurement team to support Substation and Power Transmission projects. This candidate must have some familiarity with Electrical Power projects and Procurement, and will be supporting multi-year projects with the opportunity for a long-term career path within the organization. This candidate will be working with a sharp, engaging, and welcoming team internally, and will have the ability to work partially remote depending on location.

Job Description:

  • Examines data regarding cost and availability of materials, as well as services needed to complete projects

  • Will utilize data processing software to review bills of material and design packages

  • Will create Purchase Orders for specific vendors and contractors related to the products & services they provide

  • Will negotiate new contracts with vendors and contractors

  • Will attend bid events as apart of contractor/vendor selection process

  • Monitor industry trends and be aware of relevant economic and business factors related to public utilities

  • Will use data to make suggestions to management regarding materials, contractors and services

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience supporting Electrical Transmission and/or Substation capital improvements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sourcing Engineer or Analyst, working specifically with contracts, negotiations, and procurement

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

  • Experience drafting/creating Purchase Orders, negotiating contracts, and tracking projects and delivery timelines

  • Proven communication skills
