Are you a software engineer who desires to work in a collaborative team environment developing integrated hardware and software based instrumentation that will redefine the life sciences industry?

Here is an opportunity to see your code in action as it controls modules that streamline workflows for our customers! As a Sr. Software Engineer in R&D, you will help us grow the capability of our product development team in Indianapolis supporting sample separation-based systems for life science research with opportunity to design and develop products across our broad Life Sciences platform in the future. You will apply modern development methodologies and new software technologies to build world class products. You will use user-centered design tools to produce products that delight our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in cross-functional project teams, working with internal departments including marketing, service/support, value engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing.

  • Participates in the creation and review of the product line software roadmap.

  • Creates design concepts and/or provides review feedback to engineering for user interface and operating system approaches based on user needs from external customers and application scientists.

  • Design new user interfaces and capabilities.

  • Develop products to meet safety, privacy, and security objectives for the global customer base.

  • Writes and maintains software code base, driving quality and timely work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of related experiences working on projects that involve both software and hardware components.

  • C#, C++, and SQL understanding and experience.

  • Demonstrated experience grasping new concepts quickly, learning new skills, and applying those new skills.

  • Proven analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MFC, WPF, WCF, SQL Compact, Multi-Threaded Applications, and Azure

  • Experience in Microsoft embedded operating systems, including Windows Embedded, Windows CE, and Windows IoT preferred

  • User Experience (UX) / User Interface design and implementation experience

  • Software system architecture experience

  • Industrial Automation/LIMS/SCADA integration experience

  • Modern software development methodologies including Agile and Scrum

  • Focus on optimizing time to market while increasing quality
