Salesforce Security IAM (Identity & Access Management) team is currently seeking an Engineer who will work with other systems engineers, developers, and technical program managers to architect, integrate, deploy, operate and manage IAM solutions end-to-end across multiple Public Cloud Substrates within Salesforce. As a member of the IAM team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining IAM systems as well as recommending and co-ordinating optimizations for automation and adoption across the infrastructure, at cloud scale. This position helps drive continuous improvement with a focus on process, controls, scalability, and maturity. This role will have an immediate focus on Salesforce’s transition to Public Cloud initiatives specifically in the IAM space.

Responsibilities:

  • As a part of the IAM team, partner with engineers across the Security, Infrastructure and Acquisition landscape to discover new public cloud substrates, deploy initial access management in new public cloud environments and develop patterns enabling other IAM teams to deploy services into the public cloud

  • Develop secure automation and tooling, according to architectural guidelines, throughout the Identity platform.

  • Develop and promote security standards and best practices through cross-functional work with engineering teams throughout Salesforce. Uplift security platforms and practices across environments.

  • Identify gaps and conflicts in existing processes and develop solutions to help protect systems and security infrastructure.

  • Design, implement, automate, deploy, monitor the infrastructure and applications on AWS cloud and other cloud (GCP/Azure) providers.

  • Resolve complex technical (Identity and Security) issues and drive innovation.

  • Generate technical specifications/documentation. Drive innovation & co-ordinate automation initiatives across teams.

  • A commitment to Operational Excellence and best practices including change management. We’ll want your opinions on operational processes, DevOps, deployment checklists, and QA.

Required Skills:

  • BS/BEng/BTech degree, or equivalent work experience

  • Experience deploying and operating infrastructure at scale

  • Hands-on experience with identity and access management in AWS/Azure/GCP

  • Knowledge of IAM services or technologies (e.g. 2FA, authentication, authorization, federation)

  • Hands-on automation experience with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud providers.

  • Knowledge in at least one scripting/automation language

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code/config management tools: Eg. Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation or similar cloud-based production workload management tools

  • Experience managing code through source control, CI/CD pipelines, Git/Github

  • Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills:

  • Working experience with Commercial and Open Source (OpenLDAP, OpenDJ, etc.) enterprise IAM platforms

  • Working knowledge of GoLang, C#, Java

  • Understanding of AuthN/AuthZ architectures and specifications (e.g., Kerberos, LDAP, OAuth)

  • Knowledge on Linux OS internals

  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Codecommit in AWS & Spinnaker would be beneficial

  • Experience with service offerings from major cloud providers (AWS/GCP/Azure), and on-premise/cloud hybrid architectures

  • Industry recognized certifications (e.g., RedHat, CISSP, Windows)

  • Knowledge of Networking protocols

  • Experience/aspiration in leadership (as the team expands this role could evolve into becoming a valued member of the IAM leadership team)
