Job Description

The qualified candidate will work under the supervision of our Sr. Chemist / Associate R&D Director as a laboratory technician. This position requires a basic knowledge and experience with chemicals, and laboratory techniques. Tasks will include:

  • Preparation of test samples by mixing various inorganic and organic chemicals

  • Use of analytical test methods and functional performance tests to evaluate chemical and materials/coating properties

  • Compilation and evaluation of test results, Preparation of lab reports

  • Keep up to date records of lab inventory (such as chemicals, compounds, solvents, and consumables)

  • Equipment calibrations, general maintenance and upkeep of laboratory

  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees

  • Other Duties Assigned

  • The successful candidate will be a U.S. Citizen with high school diploma and five (5) or more years industrial experience.

  • Strong problem solving skills required along with Ability to work independently.

  • Must have good skills in working with chemicals, as well as mechanical aptitude and skill; paint/slurry formulation and /or coating experience is desired; superior record keeping skills and basic computer literacy are essential.

  • Must be self-motivated. Some college level science course experience is desired.

  • Must be familiar with, and comply with all relevant health and safety requirements.

  • Some travel may be required for training and applications development.
