Major Tool and Machine is searching for a dynamic go-getter to fill our Production Planner position. This person will be responsible for scheduling and prioritizing customer orders and material requirements in a production manufacturing facility. Applicants should have the following:ii A positive attitude and be able to work under pressurei Be a self-starteri The ability to multi-taski A good work ethic and good attendancei The ability to communicate well with all levels of employees within the companyThe ideal candidate will be expected to download customer forecasts into Visual Manufacturing MRP software, create internal work orders, and analyze MRP information in order to initiate raw material purchases. Communicate customer needs and schedules to manufacturing team leaders and work with inventory control to ensure materials are delivered to the production floor in a timely manner. Communicate regularly with the Engineering Team and Customer Focused Team Leaders as issues arise. Communicate regularly with Supply Chain to resolve delivery issues as well as provide forecasts. Manage, plan and control scheduling agreements, which involve customers, suppliers, and supply chain. Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure work order routings are clear and accurate. Make decisions to release, firm, or defer work based upon current inventory, demand, and capacity.Job Duties:i Provide schedules and set priorities in support of customer needs to various manufacturing Team Leaders.ii Control flow of parts between departmentsi Communicate with Inventory Control to coordinate timely material dropsi Communicate with Supply Chain to ensure forecasts are communicated to vendors and are staying on schedule.i Maintains accurate purchase order information in ERP systemi Modify order release dates and ship dates based off supply and demandi Provide weekly ship lists to all necessary manufacturing teamsi Work with Customer Focused Team Leaders to verify P.O.'s are placed and shipment quantities are correcti Download customer forecasts into MRP software to initiate raw material purchasesii Attend weekly production meetingsi Review ship dates with Plant Manager and Customer Focused Team Leaders and make necessary adjustmentsi Send vendors updated forecast for each part number they supplyi Provide monthly forecasts to managementi Maintain MRP information in regard to lead timesi Review on-hand requirements through MRPExperience/Skillsi Minimum 3-5 years experience scheduling in a manufacturing environment. Production facility preferred, but not required.i Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsi Computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Projectsi Understanding of advanced ERP/MRP principalsi Ability to discern meaningful data points and report data in a way that is both understandable and statistically accuratei Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and accomplish business goals and objectives.i Visual Manufacturing experience a plus but not requiredEducational Experience i College degree in a technical or business discipline preferred.
