Responsible to manage the Food Production activities to ensure productivity, sanitation, quality control and safety standards are met and ensure that production supply requirements are met according to specifications, regulations, and scheduled timelines. Oversee food production processes to meet service level expectations and production to meet budgeted sales, margin, labor and overall profitability.
Associate's Degree (Required) Business
or Food Service or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years experience in retail food (i.e., bakery/deli), food services, food manufacturing or related area.
General understanding of USDA regulations and OSHA requirements; ServSafe food safety certification required or obtained within the first year.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties
Manage the Food Production activities to ensure that production supply requirements are met according to specifications, regulations, and scheduled timelines. Ensure productivity, sanitation, quality control, safety standards and accurate product weights are met; train associates to maintain such standards and ensure good manufacturing practices (GMPs) are followed throughout the facility.
Oversee food production processes to include product procurement, preparation, production planning, packaging, labeling and/or selecting to meet service level expectations, budgeted sales, margin, labor and overall profitability.
Responsible to manage the department scheduling and assignments to meet deadlines for production and product orders; ensure timely and accurate product procurement and inventory, and ensure proper documentation of related paperwork, purchase orders (PO?s), etc.
Work with cross functional departments to meet food production requirements and customer service levels; partner with Procurement and Quality Assurance regarding raw product availability and quality to meet company and customer requirements; work cross-functionally to ensure prompt and timely resolution of any issues.
Participate in new item development related to processing (introduction in production schedules, staffing, training, etc.) to meet customer expectations/service levels and meet Company goals and objectives to increase sales/profitability.
Maintain food production/manufacturing information in required software systems regarding cost, yields, etc.
Provide excellent customer service; understand customer preferences, ensure proper quality and quantity of customer orders, ensure accurate order selection and care for products.
Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment. This may include, but is not limited to: - Ensure compliance with company procedures and governmental regulations (i.e., safety, sanitation, etc.); - Oversee and ensure the cleanliness of the work environment and the proper maintenance of equipment; - Ensure proper training to operate and maintain mechanical equipment and promote and reinforce safety and effective use of equipment and compliance with facility procedures; - Assist with maintaining facility functions in partnership with cross-functional manager(s); and - Report and/or address any issues or work-related injuries, and participate in any investigations as required.
Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals. Develop and monitor department budget as required.
Maintain current knowledge of USDA regulations, federal inspections and sanitation regulations, industry trends and best food preparation practices; make recommendations to improve current programs and processes and to ensure company legal compliance. Maintain product knowledge to include sizes, varieties, sensitivity, location, and background of produce and USDA products.

Strong verbal communication skills with ability to communicate, collaborate, and delegate efficiently with associates. Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment to meet scheduled deadlines; ability to work with all levels of management and line associates. Good analysis skills (i.e., labor, production efficiency, financial, etc.). Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills are required. Knowledge of food production/distribution, sanitation, and food safety procedures skills and procedures required. Must be able to learn/understand the machinery and have the ability to train associates on operating the machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs. Proficient with computers and related software. Bilingual skills helpful based on demographic region.
