General Summary….

The Operations Manager II is responsible for the safe execution of daily operational plans and strategies, to manage, lead and allocate resources, disseminate information to teammates, ensure compliance with key processes while achieving safety, quality, efficiency and financial KPI’s.Leading and implementing an industry leading Quality Management System eligible for certification under an ISO standard. The Quality Manager will be accountable to build a plan to roll out a Quality Management System for new business transitions/start-ups.This position will be the champion for all document workflow/ procedures relevant to The Company Quality Management System standards.

This position will be responsible for…..

  • Manages at least 2 managers.

  • Management responsibilities include, but are not limited to hiring, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, staff productivity and performance management to include disciplinary actions up to and including termination.

  • Identify and coordinate daily activities of a 500+ FTE facility; inspire your team to achieve desired results in productivity, teamwork, safety, quality, and job knowledge.

  • Must have experience working in complex, multi-divisional, multi-tenant, High Peak Temp Volume, Multiple lines of business, highly automated and 1M square feet operation.

  • Directing the operational aspects of the facility.

  • Knowing and evaluating operational productivity goals, monitoring daily and ensuring goals are achieved on all shifts.

  • Ensuring/reinforcing the Company teammate culture is being fostered in the facility.

  • Assuring the attainment of facility production, quality and safety objectives.

  • Reviewing and assuring the accuracy of required production and inventory reports.

  • Planning, monitoring and managing actual performance against operational portions of the budget; this includes, but is not limited to, proper management of departmental staffing levels, overtime and overall operational headcount.

  • Leading operational initiatives to ensure inventory accuracy goals are met.

  • Ensuring shipment and loading accuracy on all shifts.

  • Implementing process improvement programs utilizing Quality Driven Management methodologies.

  • Providing assistance to the General Manager on special projects as required.

  • Collaborate across departments to drive optimal productivity; foster an environment in which diverse backgrounds are respected and valued.

  • Ensure performance plans are set, maintained, and continuously improved; generate creative solutions to identify improvements in processes.

  • Manage a safe workplace by advocating safety training and accident preparedness.

  • Implementing quality strategies/systems and developing initiatives to improve work processes at site level

  • Assuring site compliance to specific account or site standards and regulatory requirements at all levels (site, account, governmental – FDA, EPA, OSHA, DOT)

  • Quantifying, seeking long-term solutions and reviewing corrective action plans to non-conforming work processes and product damage, expiry, etc., within this facility

  • Implementing training programs, as required, to improve site performance

  • Performing internal audits on the quality system and reporting findings with request for corrective actions

  • Continuing development of current accounts

  • Establishing and implementing service surveys on regular basis with reporting to internal and external management

  • Assuring accurate disposition of non-conforming product including management of product damage, expiry, quarantine, holds, returned goods and recalls, ensuring that all information is properly communicated to customer concerning non-conforming products

  • Providing assistance to the Facility Manager on special projects as required

  • Assuring the day to day facility operations meet all productivity, safety, and quality objectives

  • Providing leadership and direction to the facility employees

You might be a great fit if….


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering or other related operations discipline is preferred. Alternatively, military rank at E-6-7/or O-2-O3.

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a logistics environment responsible for WMS, QDM, LMS, P&L and talent management.

  • In lieu of degree, military, high school diploma or GED and 8+ years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with ability to lead other leaders.

  • Experience implementing and managing Quality Assurance programs. Preferably in a logistic environment

  • Formal and working knowledge of ISO 9001

  • Inventory Control Experience

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.

  • Experience with Six Sigma or quality management methodologies and/or Black or Green Belt certification preferred.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Previous team building experience preferred.

  • Previous budget planning and P/L exposure a plus.
