Job Description: This position's preferred location is Indianapolis, IN. However, it could also be based out of any of the following locations: Dallas/Fort Worth Area, TX Dulles, VA Aurora, CO El Segundo, CA The Receiving Inspection (RI) Manager is a critical role within the IIS Supplier Mission Assurance (SMA) organization. The RI Manager is the primary SMA Lead for managing personnel for multiple RI Sites across IIS and supporting multiple IIS Programs for assuring compliance to complex Government products. The role will require extensive interaction, communication, decision making, and planning to meet unique Program and Site level RI requirements. Role will also require a high understanding and prior working knowledge in the following areas: Process Reinvention Integrating Systems for Manufacturing (PRISM) / SAP First Article Inspection validation process Inspection Plan Development Contract Review/Flowdown Global Substance and Counterfeit Part Avoidance. This opening is to support multiple Domestic and International Programs. The RI Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Manage RI personnel across multiple sites within the United States Retrieve, review, and develop action plans for RI Metrics data Work with Supplier Quality Engineering on development of RI Plans. Interpret the quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding Ensure flow down of Product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers, ensure compliance with quality requirements Identify systemic performance issues ensuring root-cause analysis and corrective solutions are identified and implemented with closure plans Drive continuous product / process improvements using statistical / analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and lean methodologies Work closely with other Quality functions and Cross Business Teams (CBTs), to affect rapid closure of issues utilizing analytical capabilities and communications skills 35% travel to other supplier and sub-tier suppliers facilities primarily in the U.S. Other domestic & international travel may be required. Required Skills: Requires a related university degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. Desired Skills: Passionate, high-energy, self-starting team player who achieves goals and strives for continuous improvement Experience with assessments of suppliers: requirement flow down, technical data package (TDP) reviews, translation of TDP to manufacturing data package (MDP), product acceptance and process evaluations at supplier’s facilities Experience working issues (root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions), monitoring supplier performance data to identify trends, analyzing opportunities for continuous improvement, implementing supplier improvement actions including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. Knowledge of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal fabrication techniques and assembly of large mechanical structures. General knowledge of how aerospace and defense specifications/standards are flowed into quality and qualification requirements for purchased material General Statistical Process Control (SPC) knowledge including implementation Experience building and maintaining relationships with multiple customers or partners (both internal and external to the company) Strong planning, facilitating and team building skills General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.) Six Sigma , Lean and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc) Experience with external customer (government) assessments / audits. Experience with management of represented labor. Excellent in written / verbal communication and presentation skills Education: Requires a related university degree or equivalent experience and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
