Goodwill Indy Medical Device Operator I - 38th Street & Sheridan in Indianapolis, Indiana
POSITION SUMMARY
The Operator I position assembles, inspects and packages medical devices according to written specifications and manufacturing instructions. This role demonstrates behaviors consistent with our Mission, Vision and Values, on behalf of Goodwill of Central & Southern Indiana.
Responsibilities
Demonstrates behavior consistent with Goodwill’s Historic Values, Basic Principles and Standards of Conduct
Hand Assembles products as instructed by Production Team Leader/ERDS
Must work with written specifications and manufacturing instructions to assemble and inspect a variety of medical devices.
Pulls and follows written packaging specifications that define instructions for the type of product components and required packaging materials.
Appropriately handles non-conformances.
Identifies components with catalog description.
Assembles boxes, packages and labels complete sets and products in processing flow.
Performs work in compliance with the Goodwill Quality Policy Manual.
Completes quality work at accepted department determined rates.
May be responsible for machine set up.
May be responsible for maintaining and operating machinery.
May handle tools, e.g. razor blades, hole punch, and table top grinders.
May use calipers, pin gauges, meter stick, meter scales, micrometer, and various test equipment.
May use a microscope or magnification in the inspection or assembly process
Maintains accurate and complete documentation.
Makes sound judgment decisions after initial training.
Reports quality problems or findings to the appropriate leadership team.
Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth.
Adheres to the Quality Management System and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations.
Works at different workstations as production needs require, following proscribed safety and quality requirements
Adheres to company policies and procedures
Works as a team member

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 18 years of age.
Willing to gain a High school diploma/general education degree (GED) or acquire within one to three months related on the job training
or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must meet the Visual Acuity Screening Requirements of 20/40 vision using both eyes with or without correction.
Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
Frequent repetitive motion.
Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to grasp, carry, feel or touch; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; communicate.
Proper attire/clothing and personal protective equipment/clothing as required within controlled manufacturing areas.
Moderate exposure to noise level in the work environment that is moderate to occasionally loud.
