We seek a diversified group of employees who can be committed to preserving and enhancing our values Kimball Electronics Indianapolis, Medical Device Contract Manufacturer POSITION OVERVIEW The mission of the Manufacturing Engineering Technician is to provide technical support to our Engineers and operational staff. To carry out this mission the Manufacturing Engineering Technician contributes to Engineering, Operations and Quality by providing operational support to existing manufacturing processes, assist in the development and implementation of new processes, troubleshoots and develops solutions to process and equipment issues, participates in process improvements while meeting goals of quality, cost and delivery for our customers. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager within a rapidly growing Medical Device manufacturer.QUICK SUMMARY Our Manufacturing Engineering Technicians work on the most important projects in the facility. As a diversified contract medical device manufacturer this position offers a candidate the opportunity to work on some of the markets most exciting products. As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will contribute to our company s overall success by assisting Engineers on developing manufacturing processes, designing tooling/equipment, conducting tests, troubleshooting and supporting Operations with maintenance, changeovers and solving manufacturing problems. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will work within a cross-functional team to meet and exceed our customer s (Internal and External) expectations. You will have the opportunity to further enhance your skills by working with all levels of the organization while gaining knowledge and experience in all areas of the manufacturing process. To be successful the candidate must be self-motivated, possess good communication skills, ability to work in a fast paced environment, ability to manage multiple task, maintain a positive attitude, have good writing skills and ability to train manufacturing associates. In our business, it is critical the candidate can demonstrate a solid understanding of the importance of quality and regulatory requirements. BASIC BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS Considerations for this outstanding opportunity to support the manufacture of life saving devices will be given to candidates who possess a desire and motivation for medical device manufacturing, has good mechanical and electrical aptitude, is self-driven, desires to solve problems, basic understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies, possess a 2 year Technical degree from an accredited program or relevant work experience as a technician in a Medical Device Manufacturing facility. KEY PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES SHORT TERM: (0 TO 3 MONTHS) * Learn/train on business units Quality system requirements and Kimball Electronics philosophies and culture * Build relationships with team members * Learn ERP system (IQMS) navigation, extraction of documents and change order process * Learn manufacturing lines, the processes and products produced * Learn and understand current process inefficiencies MIDTERM: (3 TO 6 MONTHS) * Troubleshoot manufacturing issues * Create detailed technical documentation such as manufacturing and maintenance instructions * Perform Daily or weekly maintenance on equipment * Perform process/equipment changeovers/set-ups * Provide support to Engineers by conducting investigations, testing, leading pilot builds or providing input to improve processes LONG TERM: (6 TO 12 MONTHS) * Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives by working with CI manager * Assume complete ownership of assembly area Engineering support * Support the manufacturing launch of new/revised products * Train associates on process and equipment operation
