Aerotek Laboratory Technician in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Description:

-A typical day consists of registering and processing irreplaceable biological samples (not blood).

-Adhere to all safety requirements for working with infectious and non-infectious biological materials, radioactive materials, chemical compounds and drug products.

This job requires computer proficiency, specifically in Microsoft excel and outlook. You will be responsible for learning their inventory management system for all sample handling tasks. You are on a team, but doing a lot of individual work. You'll have a designated one-on-one trainer who sits near you to answer any questions you may have. They need people who aren't timid or nervous to ask questions because quality and ensuring the samples integrity is the most important aspect of the job.

Responsibilities:

*Outside of the laboratory are State of the Art Freezers (storage units) and candidates will visit the storage units occasionally throughout the day to retrieve and store samples.

*Digitally create the storage units within their inventory system.

*Perform quality checks over information being registered against project manifest specifications

*Generate location management and custom reports

*Adhere to over 150 SOPS

*Register and Process biological samples

*Documents Notes within a LIMS system

*Work closely with other team members, but a lot of individual work and report directly to a team lead

*Follow GLP guidelines/ OSHA regulations

  • High School Diploma + 4 yrs of related experience,

-Associates Degree (Life Science) + 2 yrs experience

-BA/BS Degree (Non-Science) + 2 yrs experience

-BA/BS (Life Science Related Field)
