The Instrumentation & Controls Technician repairs, maintains, calibrates, adjusts and installs industrial measuring and controlling instrumentation. This instrumentation makes sure that all machines in a plant are safe and running correctly. The I&C technician
provides technical direction for the Instrumentation associated to the operation of Gas and Steam Turbines, and Power Generators. The Instrument Technician will also work closely with Craft Labor Supervisors, EHS personnel, and the Operations Department to
achieve these goals.
These positions are for work in the US and are for Legally authorized to work in the US candidates. You must be able to pass a drug test and background check. Some of the physical requirements of this position are traveling / field service job that requires
you to be able to be away from home for extended periods of time, the ability to lift safely a minimum of 50 pounds, perform physical work-related activities, work safely at different heights, and wear personal safety protection equipment (PPE). Employees
must be prepared to work in different shifts, as required, to safely complete the assignment.
Because this is a traveling Field Service job, you can live Remotely anywhere in the USA, so long as you have reliable transportation, and access to an airport in case you need to fly to a job site location. We will be contacting and scheduling interviews for

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instrumentation & Controls Technician main responsibilities are to install, service, troubleshoot; and perform preventive and predictive maintenance functions on equipment.
Performs repair, test, adjust, calibrate or install electronic equipment, such as industrial controls, transmitters, and vibration measurement systems for power generation equipment.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Understand the tubing & electrical connections to valves & instruments per the detail drawings & P&ID'S.
Stay abreast of new technologies and test procedures within the assigned organization and continually expand inspection qualifications.
Actively participate in client programs, planning and strategy sessions.
Actively participate in client safety initiatives, incident investigations, Hazard Hunts, etc.
Set up and calibrate NDT equipment.
Create and maintain a personal commitment to integrity, safety, quality, and productivity.
Perform other duties as assigned.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
A degree from a technical college or vocational school in instrumentation or electrical/electronic disciplines, or technical certification.
Minimum experience:o Level I: 2 years of industrial Instrumentation experience on instrumentation experience with Steam or Gas Turbines.o Level II: 5 years of industrial Instrumentation experience on instrumentation experience with Steam or Gas Turbines.o Level III: 10+ years of industrial Instrumentation experience on instrumentation experience with Steam or Gas Turbines.
Experienced reading & understanding P&ID'S, instrument technical information, instrument & electrical control drawings.
Experienced preforming bench calibration of instruments and valves.
Experienced with verifying the instrumentation & valves have the correct ranges, sizes and tags according to technical information.
Experienced recording the readings on calibration sheets and catalogue the information for turnover packages to the client.
Experienced troubleshooting to verify & transmit signals w/test equipment from instruments & valves back to the control cabinets (Mark VI, DCS, etc.).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be required frequently lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
May be required to walk/stand upright for periods of up to 12 hours and occasionally ascends/descends ladders up to 30 feet and stairs up to 6 stories.
Significant (domestic and international) travel will be required (75% to 100%) and on short notice.
Work for extended periods, including weekends and holidays, is also required.
May be required to work in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) for extended periods of time.
