E3/Sentinel leads a highly motivated Facility Condition Assessment (FCA) team that supports the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Agency’s mission of safeguarding the homeland, while facilitating legal trade. The team is responsible for conducting facility condition assessments of CBP’s facility infrastructure along the northern border and southern border of the U.S., as well as Alaska and Puerto Rico. The team also conducts design reviews with an emphasis on cost avoidance and efficient mission performance of designs.
Evaluates architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to determine condition, remaining useful life and required expenditures and remedial measures
Identify deficiencies and provide cost estimates to replace or repair deficiencies.
As part of the Facility Condition Assessment team, provide technical advice within specific area of expertise for key CBP infrastructure along the northern and southern borders, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and the interior of the United States.
Based on structural and facility knowledge, ensure assessment efforts follow all CBP policies and procedures, including but not limited to: roof access, controlled areas, and safety compliance.
Ability to obtain maintain a CBP suitability clearance
Bachelor’s Degree in a facility related discipline (i.e. facilities or construction management)
Minimum of four (4) years of relevant facility condition assessment experience.
The ability to travel 50% of the time.
The ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods of time while conducting a facility assessment.
Must be a US Citizen
Familiarity with the International Building Code (IBC)
The ability to create detailed cost estimates using RS Means Online software
Proficient utilizing Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe software
Familiarity with the applicable American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Classifications for Building Elements and Related Sitework
A Current CBP Suitability Clearance badge
