Covance Facilities Technician II in Indianapolis, Indiana

Job Overview

We are hiring for a Facilities Technician II to work our 2nd shift (6pm-6am) in our Indianapolis facility, job duties to include:

  • Troubleshoots repairs and maintains automated production equipment.

  • Knowledge of proper building maintenance and preventative actions.

  • Contributes to the documentation processes as it relates to building and production assets.

  • Using asset management/work order systems.

  • Understand and sign off for standard operating procedures (SOP) associated with routine maintenance and equipment operating scenarios.

  • Perform routine or needed maintenance during predetermined maintenance windows with the associated department staff.

  • Participate in RCA methods when applicable.

  • Actively participate in retaining inventories of replacement parts and accessories for critical systems.

  • Adhere to change control management of any line or building related component or system.

  • Actively participate in building controls.


  • High School diploma

  • Secondary vocation above high school and/or experience is desired related to mechanical and electrical.

  • Automated Printing experience is desired.

  • Strong methodology in troubleshooting techniques.

  • Good knowledge of expediting components and services needed to maintain a 24-hour operation


  • Minimum of six years of immediate work experience related to product assembly processes, building facility functions.

  • Minimum of six years’ experience in troubleshooting methods, knowledge of electrical devices, motor control, power distribution and the ability to read schematic drawings.

  • Familiar with PLC and/or PC based programmable controls.

  • Mechanical experience with motion dynamics, hydraulics, pneumatics, gearing, conveying and belting.

  • The ability to navigate well with Microsoft Office products is required.
