Overview of Job Function

The Software Engineer is responsible for the design and development of key software products including new functionality to, as well as maintenance and enhancements of the core products comprising our Conversational AI platform. This position works with Product Management, Development and Implementation teams to develop creative solutions satisfying technical and business requirements. The role must have a proven track record in leading, designing and implementing complex software systems. Additionally, the role leads code reviews and provide recommendations to management as to process, tool or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and/or quality of the solutions developed by the team.

Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead project development initiatives to conclusion (architecture and implementation).

  • Identify and successfully introduce new technologies, engineering processes and techniques to the engineering team as appropriate.

  • Develop new and review existing architectures.

  • Write clean, standardized code that performs optimally in highly concurrent environments.

  • Write design specification documents.

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate on design concepts.

  • Offer innovative solutions to software configuration and build issues.

  • Work with leaders in other groups to define software standards and explore new technologies.

  • Guide and mentor less experienced software developers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software development

  • Experience with unit testing

  • Experience with GIT

  • Experience in Software Development using C/C++ Experience CMake and/or Clang

  • Experience with cross-platform C/C++ development

  • Able to take ownership of issues and drive to resolution

  • Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations

Preferred Requirements

  • Masters degree in Computer Science

  • Experience with JIRA and/or Confluence

  • Experience with Boost

  • Experience with Python and/or BoostPython

  • Experience with NLP, parsers, Lex/Flex, Yacc, Bison

  • Experience with building and using CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with Cloud hosting services (AWS, Azure)

  • Experience with or an understanding of Containerization strategies and software

  • Experience working with remote teammates
