Data Warehouse Consultant

Travel Percentage: 0-10%

Responsibilities:

Lilly Global Shared Services in Business Unit Information & Digital Solutions (IDS) is responsible for driving technology innovation for the global platforms and applications which serve all our Business Unit affiliates across the globe. You will primarily focus on data integration and analytic solution delivery. This position will report to the Information & Digital Solutions (IDS) manager primarily responsible for solution delivery and innovation.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead solution architectural strategy within the program and projects

  • Lead the technical development and data integration efforts on solution delivery projects within Global Shared Services and in partnership with our global affiliates.

  • Stay abreast of tools and technologies to influence IT strategy so that it provides the best usage opportunities for our business

  • Partner with and influence IT and business team members to drive solution delivery

  • Partner with and influence various IT organizations (e.g. Enterprise Data Backbone, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture) to understand the appropriate menu of technologies and tools, and then leverage for solution delivery efforts

  • Ensure adherence to appropriate quality standards and risk-based decision making for all delivery efforts

  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable processes for delivery and supportability of our solutions

  • Achieve technical proficiency in the core tools used by the shared services team (e.g. SQL, Tableau, Informatica, AWS, Python etc.)

  • Develop expertise of processes and data used by global business unit functions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and set technical direction for solution delivery projects

  • Understand the key elements of the project related to data and business usage

  • Develop technical requirements and solution designs

  • Ensure solutions align with business and IT strategic initiatives

  • Responsible for system testing, ensuring effective resolution of defects, timely discussion around business issues, and appropriate management of resources relevant to data and integration

  • Ensure system design and development adheres to quality and compliance requirements

  • Responsible for the system performance and user experience of solutions

  • Plan and execute against a release schedule relevant to the Global programs being supported

  • Partner with and influence vendor resources on solution development to ensure understanding of data and technical direction for solutions

  • Ensure successful transition of applications through planning and knowledge transfer for supportability

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT solution delivery including ETL, AWS Platforms, and BI Tools

  • Prior experience delivering in an Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Expertise with the technical architecture associated with data warehousing and analytic environments

  • Troubleshoot and configure core AWS Platforms such as EC2, S3, Route 53, RDS, etc.

  • Demonstrated strategic influence

  • Automate processes/code in Python, JavaScript, or another modern language.

  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and innovation interest

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and investigative skills

  • Solid background in Information Technology with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology areas

  • Successfully collaborate across various technology disciplines.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, teamwork and people development

  • Ability to communicate proactively and effectively with IT and business stakeholders

  • Experience in applying quality and compliance requirements

  • Expertise with analytics and business intelligence solutions

  • Experience with the technical architecture associated with databases and analytics environments

  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and innovation interest

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and investigative skills

  • Proven background in Information Technology with demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technology and business process
