We are searching for a data architect who is passionate about technology and healthcare to build models and applications in areas such as Drug dosing and interactions. You should be willing to take on challenges of unknown dimensions, and work hand in hand with clinicians, customers, and developers. You will need to have very strong technical skills in data sciences and a proven ability to deliver on projects.

Reporting into the Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Effectiveness team, this role is crucial to the continued growth and evolution of one of the leading global healthcare technology companies.


  • Engage as a key member of the Content Technologies team

  • A self-starter who can align the technology with the overall product strategy

  • Work with pharmacists and clinical informaticists to develop data models that accurately represent complex drug and clinical information content while addressing multiple product requirements

  • Evaluate and stay current on backend technologies to make recommendations on those that best serve product use cases

  • Design and maintain data backend infrastructure that may entail various database technologies to support defined data models, fulfil product requirements, and support internal use cases for analytics.

  • Define and maintain ETL procedures and infrastructure

  • Establish and execute data curation policies and procedures

  • Collaborate effectively with other data sciences teams to align on direction and leverage existing tools and knowledge

  • Enable our clinicians and pharmacists to create and curate drug information efficiently and accurately

  • 10+ years of experience.

  • Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred.

  • Working experience on Designing, development and tuning of enterprise database environment,

  • Experience with multiple data backend technologies such as key-value stores, big data repositories, relational, graph, and no-SQL databases and more.

  • Familiarity with big data repositories and enterprise solutions such as Redshift, Snowflake, and BigQuery

  • Experience with cloud architecture and technologies

  • Experience with automated database deployments and containerization

  • Hands on experience with data modeling and ETL tools

  • Expert in SQL with abilities to optimize queries as well as tune database performance

The following is highly desired, but not required:

  • Familiarity with shell scripting

  • Experience in healthcare

  • Experience or understanding of health terminologies and data sets such as RxNORM, SNOMED, ICD-10, LOINC, and CPT

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to relay and simplify complex concepts


Up to 5% travel might be needed
