The Enterprise Information and Platforms organization (EI&P) delivers technology foundations, standards, processes and governance required to support an enterprise approach to information management spanning multiple business entities, disciplines and platforms. This position will serve as an Enterprise Big Data Consultant, providing strategic technical direction and project consultation for the Enterprise Big Data Capability and Data Persistence. The position is accountable for applying deep technical knowledge to deliver on internal programs that enhance the service capabilities, understanding the portfolio of services offered, and working with a diverse set of business partners to design and apply these services/technologies to support solutions that meet business needs.
The Enterprise Big Data Architect will work across the enterprise to identify and lead strategic enterprise Big Data needs, support the plan, design architectural patterns, consult on data architecture components to best meet business needs, surface opportunities and create business cases for foundational Big data, and data persistence capabilities, define and promote the use of standards, best practices and controls , and communicate and promote the value of the company’s data assets.
This role will have responsibilities over the Hadoop platform as a competence center or solution delivery.
Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for product and service planning through a broad understanding of data analytics and integration technologies.
Represent the service outside the function and drive Hadoop effective Analytics capabilities by building on a solid understanding of the integration points with applications, platforms, network infrastructure, and other capabilities.
Deliver and communicate technology roadmaps to ensure enough time for effective adoption.
Support project architects in the creation of project artifacts, governance processes, and reference patterns.
Advocate a tool-agnostic approach to identify optimal analytics solutions
Anticipate changes to solution offerings through a broad understanding of the technical issues and engagement in EIP’s strategic direction. Partner with infrastructure, solution delivery, and Information Management capability teams to architect and deliver current and future Platform solutions.
Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Cloud technology
Ability to recognize project information, integration, analytics, and technical solution needs and define project specific architectures that provide these capabilities.
Advanced knowledge of analytics concepts, practices, methods, principles, and a comprehensive understanding of evolving industry trends and standards, including analytics applications and their supporting architectural requirements.
Experienced in supporting, managing and setting technical direction for globally offered services/technologies.
Demonstrated versatility in technical leadership, project management, and systems/software development and implementation.
Demonstrated ability to translate end-state technology models into Reference Patterns and standards
Knowledge of systems and the integrations between infrastructure technologies (i.e., operating systems, networks, firewalls, security.) and applications.
Demonstrated ability to come up the learning curve quickly on new Analytics technologies and apply them quickly.
Experience working with teams across organizational and geographic boundaries and multiple levels in the organization.
Strong teamwork, self-management, problem-solving abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skills
ITIL Foundation Certification
Understanding of data management practices, database design and modeling.
Familiarity with multiple design, construction, version control, and testing tools
Experience with configuring end-user tools such as LillyNet sites, Sharepoint workflow, and InfoPath forms
Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships, and being an effective team member or business partner.
