Aerotek CNC Process Engineer in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description:

Our client design, develop, manufacturer and distribute medium- and heavy-duty fully automatic transmissions and hybrid propulsion systems. They currently have a lot of new business being launched. The group we are working with is responsible for the development of the Gears that they Utilizes. Once these gears are designed, they outsource the machining of them to different manufactures. Once they begin that process, this team supports the development and quality of that gear.

The candidate selected for this position will be supporting the manufacturing processing and quality development of these gears. The process utilized to manufacturer is extremely machining focused. CNC Mills, Lathes, Manual Machining, 4 axis, 5 axis, etc. This candidate will have responsibility supporting the process definition, control plans, PPAP completion, Heat Treat processing and validation, feed speeds, audits.

The team they will be working on has 4 other engineers. It is a project based group and currently has 9 new launches they are supporting. Usually each person has 1-2 at a time. They would be off loading portions of workload to the person selected for this position.

Opportunity- Contract is at least 6 months. Could go longer depending on performance.
