Overview

As a Safety Technician, you’ll be responsible for:Driving all of Therma Tru’s safety initiatives, programs.

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

  • Participate in plant safety initiatives, programs such as VBS, Safety Committee, MoveSMART

  • Assist in Incident/Injury analysis, investigations, corrective actions

  • Conduct trainings, new hire orientation, compliance trainings, all PIT trainings, certifications

  • Participate in ergonomic initiatives, projects

  • AIC data entry, dashboards, reporting

  • Drive participation in all safety initiatives, programs, committee’s

  • Maintain all training records, written safety programs, inspections

  • Update all safety charts for daily huddles, monthly town halls

  • Assist in Contractor Safety requirements

  • Participate and report out safety information at morning huddles, including tool box talks

  • Assist in supporting achievement and implementation of all regulatory agency requirements

  • Assist in all permit reporting, requirements, including MSOP, SWPPP, Hazardous Waste (RCRA)

  • Facilitate safety shoe and prescription eyewear programs

  • Assist with hazardous waste

  • Be a floor presence for associates and answer questions, provide guidance to associates, leaders, contractors

  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Graduate or GED

  • Forklift Certified (Preferred)

  • Positive attitude and a willingness to work with others

  • Willingness to work overtime when needed

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a group

  • Outstanding attendance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Physical demands of performing the duties of this job include, but are not limited to, occasionally lifting/handling up to <=50, frequently lifting/handling up to <=15 lbs, and constantly lifting/handling up to <=5 lbs.

NON- PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Include but are not limited to time pressures, frequent change of tasks, irregular work schedule/overtime, multi-tasking, working closely with others as a team, and tedious or exacting work.

  • WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate works around mechanical hazards, noise and or vibration on a daily basis. Extreme temperatures, wetness / humidity and being outdoors are seasonally in nature.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of computer functions and strong computer operations skills.Proficient use of computers to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence.
