Primary Role

Assist with activities related to environmental management and water quality. Support state Cross Connection Control Program. Support programs to ensure environmental compliance. Assists in the tracking, completion, review, and submittal of regulatory reports.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Cross Connection Control Program. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and managing enforcement of noncompliant accounts. Handle customer and tester calls. Send and track surveys and conduct onsite inspections as needed (30%)

  • Track, prepare, file and maintain reports, and records to ensure compliance with federal and state water quality regulations and company approved water quality standards. Assists department to ensure timely regulatory compliance program submissions. (25%)

  • Data entry of compliance data into LIMS system for state and serve as Super User for Environmental Management system (10%)

  • Time entry and administrative support for IN WQ Team (5%)

  • Track operator certifications, create trainings, and obtain CEU approval of water, wastewater, and cross connection control training for the business (5%)

  • Support Source Water Protection Program as needed. Assist with development of local planning team lists; scheduling of LPT meetings, development/mailing of educational materials, and updating of PCSI lists/maps. (25%)

Knowledge / Skills

  • Knowledge of federal and state environmental standards and regulations

  • Knowledge of Source Water Protection Practices and Requirements

  • Must understand principles of water and/or wastewater treatment

  • Must understand principles and requirements of Cross Connection Control

  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

Experience / Education

  • Two (2) to four (4) years experience in environmental regulations; water, and/or wastewater, and laboratory operations is preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent environmental area preferred.

  • Must possess a valid State issued Driver's License.

Travel Requirements

  • Must hold valid Driver’s License.

  • Up to travel 50% requirement daytime, in-state travel.
