We have a great opportunity for a Scientific Specialist (I) in our Immunology and Immunotoxicology (I&I) Group in Greenfield, IN. We are offering a sign-on bonus of $3,000 ($1,500 upon hire and another $1,500 after 6 months)
In this role, you will use your expertise to analyze samples (including, but not limited to, cells and serum/plasma) and develop/validate methodologies for new assays in compliance with appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory agency guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Organizes and conducts routine and non-routine sample analysis in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines.
Documents work and maintains study documentation and laboratory records.
Sets up, operates and performs routine and non-routine maintenance on general equipment.
Provides input and participates in project meetings, plans, monitors and guides project work.
Critically review and perform QC checks and approval of data
Assist with the monitoring of quality control trends and troubleshoot alongside the SME and implements any actions.
Informs Study Director, Principal Investigator and/or management of any problems and/or deviations that may affect the integrity of the data and participates in corrective action of problems.
Contributes towards a cohesive team environment.
To assist in setting up and performing method development and validation of various Immunotoxicology assays.
To be involved in the transfer of methods into I&I
To perform complex analysis using unfamiliar or new methods, asking for scientific guidance as needed.
Maintains awareness and compliance with all safety directives and safety procedures in accordance with the regulations
Accepts responsibility in ensuring clean and safe laboratory work environment
To have scientific or technical input into any modifications in test methods or procedures where required
Seek scientific guidance as needed.
To participate in the evaluation and qualification of any new equipment
To be aware and understand the appropriate regulatory guidelines.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Trains and assists less experienced staff.
Performs troubleshooting and guides others in troubleshooting processes, instrumentation and methods
Participates in process improvement initiatives.
Represents the department in client calls/visits and conferences where required.
Plans individual workload in coordination with team members.
To help foster a high professional standard and encourage good staff relationships
Assists in writing methods or protocols.
Considers financial implications of ongoing activities.

Bachelor of Science/Arts (BS/BA) degree in a related scientific field required, including, but not limited to biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, cell biology, immunology, molecular biology.
Master’s degree (MS/MA) in immunology, cell biology or related scientific field strongly preferred.
Experience may be substituted for education.
At least 5 years’ relevant professional laboratory experience with a Bachelor’s.
1-3 years’ relevant professional laboratory experience with a Master’s.
Experience with aseptic technique and primary cell culture is preferred.
Experience with flow cytometry, cell-based assays and/or immunoassay/ELISA is desirable.
Experience with method development and troubleshooting is desirable.
Experience working in a regulated environment is desirable.
