Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for fabricating, repairing and troubleshooting tooling or fixturing to support manufacturing operations.
Duties:
Comply with established job safety practices, and procedures as specified by company policies.
Fabricates and repairs machine tools using machining operations and measuring instruments.
Work from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies, and jigs.
Assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting new and repair tooling.
Ensures that parts and tooling are in accordance with instructions, prints, and work orders.
Proficient in the use of all shop equipment to maintain, and troubleshoot tooling.
Set up and operates machine tools, lathes, and grinders.
Maintain all assigned machines and equipment including preventative maintenance.
Perform organizational duties including maintaining an organized and clean work area.
Performs welding and heat treating as needed.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

Required Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of Tool and Die apprenticeship training
Preferred Education/Skill
Journeyman's card
Minimum seven years of tool and die experience

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time position on 1st shift.
