This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced program/project management, operations, or manufacturing professional with solid leadership, collaboration skills, business acumen and technical aptitude to join Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems Operations Team in support of Tactical Communication Systems Programs. As a member of the Program Operations Team, the Program Operations Leader leads transition to production activities for new and significant product redesigns with a primary focus on Raytheon’s Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) products. Program Operations has full accountability and responsibility to manage and coordinates the transition of development programs into the manufacturing sites in support of the manufacturing plan. You will oversee and coordinate the operational aspects of development programs, projects and services, leading cross-functional (Engineering, Supply Chain, Mission Assurance) teams in the execution of transition to production tasks. This role acts as liaison between program management, production control, program teams, Operations Program Management, and factory management and supervision. As the ideal candidate, you are a self-starter and are able to work both independently and collaboratively at a high level in a dynamic environment. You will draw from extensive program, project, operations, and/or manufacturing management experience to ensure flawless transition of newly developed or redesigned products into manufacturing sites. Specific responsibilities include: Development of manufacturing strategies for new products during the business capture phase Initiate and lead Make/Buy/Where activities aligned with manufacturing strategy for new products Establish planned delivery schedules for new products Lead Operations proposal activities and engage manufacturing sites for bids on new products Lead Transition to Production (TTP) for all new programs; establish plans and manage execution Provide new business forecast inputs to the Sales & Operations Planning process to support manufacturing planning activities Report on Contract On-Time Delivery Performance (CLIN) for non-manufacturing site products Collaborate with Engineering to ensure robust Design to Unit Product Cost (DTUPC) and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) activities support TTP Identify and plan investments (capital, expense, other) in support of new Programs and manufacturing strategy Partner with Engineering and manufacturing sites for test planning, test equipment, and projected test yields/capacity Support Manufacturing Readiness Assessments and Production Readiness reviews with internal and external customers Prepare and report Estimates at Completion (EACs) for Operations content on new products Program schedule integration (inter-factory and subcontracts) to ensure alignment to Program schedule / contract Resolve design, cross-functional, and programmatic issues impacting schedule, cost, and/or quality of EDM/LRIP execution Identify, monitor, and report on Program risks and opportunities and support Program Risk Review Board for new products Support closeout activities at close of development/EDM contracts and work TTP with manufacturing sites Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client satisfaction goals and objectives Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for interventions and problem solving with project managers, line managers and clients The preferred location for this position is Aberdeen, MD. It can also be located in Fort Wayne, IN.
