Community Health Systems Refrigeration Specialist, FT 1.0 Days W/Rotation if needed in Fort Wayne, Indiana


Performs skilled duties in the installation, inspection, operation and repairing of refrigeration equipment used for preserving food, making ice, cooling water and air conditioning the buildings. Installs and maintains medical gas systems. Performs a variety of skilled duties in monitoring, maintenance and repair of equipment, including but not limited to the repair of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, boilers, cooking towers, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical generator, water supply, uninterruptable power supply, and medical gas supply systems. Continually performs preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems. These duties are performed using technical test equipment as well as standard hand tools.


Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications


Experience: Must have Refrigeration Certification. NAPE plant operator certification is preferred

Education: High School diploma or equivalent, supplemented by two(2) years experience in troubleshooting electromechanical equipment with exposure to preventive maintenance procedures and wire diagram interpretation. Six (6) months learning time to become satisfactorily proficient in this position


  • Must have valid unrestricted drivers license.

  • Must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams, blue prints; plumbing risers and valve charts,

test meter readings, manufacturer s and hospital s preventive maintenance procedures.

  • Must have good interpersonal skills and use good judgment in emergency situations.

  • Must be willing to attend Continued Education Classes related to this field.
