Robert Half International Purchasing Coordinator in FORT WAYNE, Indiana


Robert Half is working with a well known global company in search for a buyer associate. This is a long term contract role and would be in downtown Fort Wayne, IN.

In this role, the employee will manage the supply chain for assigned commodities such as metal, hardware, and labels and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The employee will also plan, analyze, procure and expedite components utilizing accurate purchase order placement to meet sales demands, monitor and maintain acceptable inventory levels, and achieve on-time deliveries to meet our customer's production schedules.

The position will work closely with other departments on new product introductions, accounts payable maintenance, and supplier quality issues. The purchasing analyst will interface with scheduling, global sourcing, customer service, manufacturing engineering, expeditors, and quality departments to meet on-time delivery metrics in a highly volatile business environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • -Buying/Procurement of a variety of metal, hardware, and label components to be used in the manufacture of Control Box units at our Whitepath facilities located in Georgia and Mexico.

  • -Assurance of timely delivery and inventory management in a high demanding work environment.

  • -Materials requirements planning (MRP) for inventory control, supplier selection, and supplier quality.

  • -Daily analysis review and evaluation of changing work orders by commodity.

  • -Access and analyze multiple systems to ensure supplier on-time-delivery of 100% and ability to use business judgment to resolve problems to get to root cause.

  • -Make significant contributions to the team by applying own knowledge of buying/procurement function from past experiences.


Education BA/BS degree with 2 to 5 years’ experience as a buyer or procurement specialist; or MA/Microsoft degree with 0 to 2 years’ experience as a buyer or procurement specialist

Experience/Qualifications -Strong inventory control skills -Ability to understand and manage planning of materials utilizing an MRP -Expert skill with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Access -Great customer service and communication skills -Must possess a strong work ethic, dedication to the company, ability to overcome challenges, and a willingness to learn new systems -Must have attention to detail, be very organized, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
