Serving three primary markets passenger vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment Dana provides the world's original-equipment manufacturers and the aftermarket with local product and service support through a network of nearly 100 engineering, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:1) Learn and understand the safety rules of the lab and plant.2) Read and understand the policies of the lab.3) Understand the Quality Policy of the plant and its effect on our customers.4) Read and understand the work instructions for all lab equipment.5) Become properly trained in the operation of all lab equipment.6) Prepare test pins for evaluation. Test the pins for hardness, case depth and microstructure.7) Record all pertinent data in the respective database and apply SPC techniques.8) Prepare test pins for upcoming shifts.9) Read and understand the specifications related to heat treating.10) Cut and evaluate products that are carburized. Document results as required.11) Interact with the production staff if a nonconformance is found.12) Cut and evaluate products that are induction hardened. Document results as required. Set-ups may be required.13) Cut and evaluate products that are induction tempered. Document results as required.14) Order lab supplies as necessary.15) Prepare samples for PPAP analysis.16) Check and record furnace parameters as required17) Attend production meetings if special circumstances warrant lab involvement. 18) Cut and evaluate electric resistance welded tubes.19) Cut and evaluate laser welded products.Required Education and/or Experience:Associate degree required; Bachelors degree in Technical field desirable.Strong background in compliance/adherence to processDemonstrated strength of character to succeed in high pressure manufacturing environment.Possess knowledge of current product or experience in metal machining operations and assembly desirable.
