To be considered for one of the employment opportunities below, you'll need to complete our online application at: http://www.ottenweller.com/current-openingsiJob Opening:i LASER OPERATOR -i iShift: 3rdiApply Online:i http://www.ottenweller.com/Current-Openings?ID=52Summary:Operates laser cutting or Laser punching machines to cut holes or shapes into metal blanks to specified dimensions.Essential Duties:Sets machine by loading material into machine worktable using overhead crane and creating nesting for parts from existing .PRT fileActivates controls which cut workpiece into required form.Monitor machine visually and audibly to ensure equipment is operating properly. Press buttons when necessary to program movement and speed of machine cycle.Unload processed parts and part skeleton off worktable after processing.Performs first piece and in process inspection by checking dimensions of part per blueprint using calipers and tape measure. Inspects parts according to C=0 chart. Complete inspection form.Perform routine preventative maintenance on laser machines. Works with qualified maintenance technician to troubleshoot and make general repairs on machine. Completes maintenance log.Qualifications:High School diploma or GED, one year of laser operation experience in metal fabrication or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic programming skills, basic blue print proficiency and previous CNC experience is required. Repetitive heavy lifting up to 50#irequired.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with vendors and employees of organization.iMATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.REASONING ABILITYAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
