Job Summary

The Electrical Engineering Technician is a key member of the local operations team and reports directly to the VP of Continuous Improvement. The Electrical Engineering Technician will be responsible for establishing and deploying best practices as it relates to integration of electrical systems into pontoon assembly and system diagnostics throughout the manufacturing process. This position may be asked to lead and direct the work of others in an environment which promotes teamwork and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Create manufacturing and assembly processes to ensure the electrical system is successfully installed into each pontoon.

  • Rapidly trouble shoot the pontoons electrical systems and identify opportunities for establishing preventative measures in the operations

  • As needed, design test equipment to detect quality issues for the system throughout the assembly process

  • Support Supply Chain activities by establishing best practices used in qualifying new suppliers for electrical system components

  • Support New Product Development activities to ensure successful integration of electrical system is into the manufacturing environment for all new product development projects.

  • To provide hands on feedback to ensure high quality, accurate, and timely engineering services and documents

  • Partner with operations team to positively impact culture, operational excellence and drive safety

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Comfortable being hands-on on the shop floor, working with tools and troubleshooting issues on the pontoon electrical components

  • Strong background in product design and validation as well as lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement. Experience in developing manufacturing standards and procedures.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and resources and engage others by developing trust both inside and out of the organization.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required. Ability to convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals and groups. Must be able to interact with a diverse group of people to create an environment that is equitable, inclusive, and cooperative.

  • Creative thinker with solid analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Using innovative approaches, addressing of problems and opportunities, and implementation and acceptance of change within the workplace.

Education Requirements – Two year degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or other related field with 5 plus years of experience in manufacturing

Physical Requirements – Synonymous with typical manufacturing environments

Travel Requirements – 0% - 20%
