JOB SUMMARY: Safely perform electrical and mechanical maintenance repair work, troubleshooting, routine and preventive maintenance on production molding and assembly machinery and auxiliary equipment on all production lines and plant facilities equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Installation, repair and preventive maintenance of all operating equipment, fix equipment and support equipment as assigned

  1. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and control systems issues with Molding and AMO machines and all support equipment; perform appropriate maintenance and/or repairs.

  2. Troubleshoot and repair all HVAC equipment, certification required.

  3. Install machines electrical, plumbing and interface with all other systems.

  4. Read electrical and hydraulic print to perform required maintenance and service

  5. Diagnose issues and provide solutions and ways to improve machines.

  6. Understand PLC and RS Logic to test equipment and/or make adjustments

  7. Perform daily PMs and maintain proper paperwork

  8. Comply with safety regulations and established lean manufacturing principles.

  9. Provide general facilities maintenance.

  10. Work with other mechanics, engineering and manufacturing to ensure continuous operationsCommunicate with shift leads and maintenance manager about on-going issues and the ability to provide resolution with proper documentation and root cause analysis. Work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Follow applicable Food Safety and cGMP policies Follow all safety guidelines for lockout/tag out set forth by department, plant and Berry Plastics. Maintain clean, safe work area, by being efficient neat and organized. Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor Communicate and work effectively and positively with all co-worker

Education and/or Experience

  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with 1-2 years experience working in maintenance for a manufacturing company

  2. Language Skills- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  3. Reasoning - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Minimum Qualifications

Effective written and oral communication skills

Ability to work with limited supervision

Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and welding is beneficial

Advanced technical training or applied experience with hydraulics, industrial electricity, electronics, and control systems

MIG & TIG welding.

Fabricating skills.

Excellent print reading(schematics) capabilities

Additional training may be required to retain position
